Preheat oven to 350℉. Gather your ingredients so that you have everything close at hand on the counter or table. Prepare your ingredients. Using a nut chopper, chop the pecans. Place butter in a glass measuring cup and heat in microwave until butter has melted.
In a small bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and brown sugar. Stir in large eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until all ingredients are incorporated.
Gradually stir in flour mixture, just until combined. The batter will be thick.
Spread batter into an oblong cake pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Sprinkle batter with chocolate chips and chopped pecans.
Bake for 30-35 minutes until cookies are set in the center. Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Makes 20.
