Preheat oven to 425°F. Gather your ingredients so that you have everything close at hand on the counter or table.
Prepare the Ingredients
Using a box grater, finely shred the cheddar cheese.
Make the Biscuit Dough
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and dried parsley.
Using a pastry fork, cut in vegetable shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add whole milk and finely grated cheese. Stir with fork until blended. Dough will be sticky.
Drop from spoon onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Bake in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until lightly golden brown. Transfer biscuits to a cooling rack.
Prepare Garlic Butter
In a small bowl, combine melted butter, dried parsley, garlic powder and garlic salt.
Using a pastry brush, slather melted garlic butter over the tops of biscuits. Serve warm. Makes 12 biscuits.
