Country Sausage Gravy
Here's a recipe I make every year on the Fourth of July. Serve with Country Biscuits or Sourdough Biscuits. Enjoy!

bulk pork sausage

tablespoons
butter
1/3

all-purpose flour

whole milk

teaspoon
garlic powder

freshly ground black pepper

Instructions
Gather the ingredients so you have everything close at hand on the counter or table.
Cook the Sausage
In a large skillet, brown
1 pound bulk pork sausage
over medium heat in
2 tablespoons butter
.
Make the Gravy
Sprinkle
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
over sausage and stir into grease to make roux.
Slowly add
2 cups whole milk
and stir to thicken. Sprinkle with
1 teaspoon garlic powder
and
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
.
Remove from heat and serve warm with biscuits. Serves 4.
