Make the Cookie Dough
In a large mixing bowl, cream together 1 cup butter (softened), 3/4 cups brown sugar, and 3/4 cups granulated sugar to incorporate.
Add 2 large eggs and 1 tablespoon vanilla extract. Mix well.
In a small bowl, whisk together 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1 teaspoon baking soda. Add to creamed mixture in three parts. Do not overmix.
Stir in 10 oz bittersweet chocolate morsels and chopped pecans, just until combined.
Using a large cookie scoop (1 or 1.3 oz) scoop dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
Bake in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until golden brown along the edges. Cool on wire racks. Makes 2-3 dozen.
