Valentine’s Day is a rather special day for me. Obviously, it’s a day centered around hearts, love, and chocolate. But it’s also the day my husband and I married. On a Wednesday night. In an ice storm. This year we’ll celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary, so, I invite you to celebrate with me with one of these Favorite Valentine Chocolate Desserts.
(Post updated on 1/24/24.)
Rather than fight the crowds and long lines, my husband and I often stay home on our anniversary, and I’ll make a special dinner. Steaks, shrimp, Chicken Cordon Bleu, or maybe even an Italian dinner that we enjoy. And that dinner usually (always) includes a chocolate dessert! What is Valentine’s day without some yummy delicious chocolate? Right?
The real question is, which one will I make this year?
Favorite Valentine Chocolate Desserts – Mousse or Fondue
If you love chocolate, I encourage you to give French Chocolat Chaud a try. Imagine decadent dark chocolate, melted down and mixed with milk, then heated low until it gradually thickens. Not thick like a pudding or even ganache, and certainly not like the hot chocolate we know in the United States. And while neither a mousse or fondue, it’s Intense, Rich, and Quite Heavenly.
Valentine Chocolate Mousse with Strawberries is one of my favorite desserts to make in February. Formed with Belgian dark chocolate, the heart mold is a chocolate-lover’s dream. Dip fresh strawberries (or your finger) into the delicious chocolate mousse and you’ll be licking your lips all night!
Chocolate Peanut Butter Fondue is sure to delight every chocolate craving you may ever have. It’s so delicious. And easy. Melted chocolate mixed with creamy peanut butter used for dipping with your favorite fruits, cake, or cookies.
Favorite Chocolate Cheesecake
This Chocolate Fudge Truffle Cheesecake is a chocolate-lover’s dream dessert. It is a new take on my Chocolate Fudge Cheesecake recipe–made even better, and more chocolaty! Fudgy! It reminds me of a wonderful chocolate truffle candy. So yummy!
Chocolate Chip Cheesecake is the perfect choice when you’re craving a little chocolate, but your other half wants a plain cheesecake. The crust really puts this cheesecake over the top with it’s combination of vanilla wafers, coconut flakes, and pecans. It’s really quite delicious.
Or Maybe Chocolate Croissants or Candy
These Sourdough Chocolate Croissants (aka pain au chocolat) are out-of-this-world delicious, bakery-style beautiful, and simply wonderful. They are so flaky, they fall apart at the touch. Lots of buttery layers. With chunks of yummy dark chocolate tucked inside the center that leaves you licking your lips for more.
I’ve been making Chocolate Caramel Pecan Clusters for many years now. It’s a holiday recipe for the Christmas season and also for Valentine’s Day. Our family loves them and they make great gifts. Clusters of chewy caramel and chopped pecans covered in a delectable chocolate coating. So yummy!
Belgian Chocolate Raspberry Truffles are quite yummy! Perfect for a tea party, wine tasting, or even to give as a gift to your favorite Valentine!
Favorite Chocolate Cakes
This Chocolate Cream Cake hits the spot on so many levels. It’s moist. It’s rich. And the chocolate fudge frosting just makes me croon. You know what that means, right? It makes me want to sing!
This Easy Fudge Cake with Ganache Icing is the best chocolate cake I’ve tasted and very easy to make. It’s loaded with fudgy chocolate, using a chocolate cake mix and instant chocolate pudding mix, as well as miniature chocolate chips and a silky Ganache icing.
My husband loves this Flourless Chocolate Almond Cake. Which is really amazing, because he doesn’t normally enjoy chocolate desserts. This works well for when you need a Gluten-Free dessert, too.
Chocolate Cookies and Brownies
This recipe for Chewy Chocolate Fudge Brownies is one we make just about every month at our house. Decadent, chewy, fudgy brownies that are easy to make and oh so good!
I’m a huge fan of biscotti and always thought it would be too difficult to make, but it’s so easy! This Double Chocolate Biscotti with Almonds recipe is delicious and earned a thumbs up from my family.
No-Bake Chocolate Cookies is a favorite recipe from my childhood. Especially nice when you don’t want to heat up the house with the oven. They are so delicious. Chocolate. Peanut Butter. Coconut. Oats. And Peanuts. So yummy!

Oh, thank you so much, Nisha! I’m thinking this year will be a great year for shrimp, and that chocolate cake!
Happy anniversary! Love that you included one of your wedding pics! My hubby is a real chocoholic and I’m sure he’d love all these delicious desserts. It’s hard to choose which one to make for him for Valentine’s. Maybe the fudge cake or chocolate cream cake!
Thanks so much. I hope your husband enjoyed the dessert you made for him!
