Serve Blonde Brownies for a Snack or Easy Dessert

These bar cookies have the perfect combinations. Sweet and Salty. Chewy Center and Crunchy Edges. Buttery. Chocolaty. With hints of Butterscotch. Delicious.

My favorite part of these cookies? It’s the edges. I always go for them first.

These Blonde Brownies are quick and easy to put together. No waiting for batches of cookies to come out of the oven. Just mix them up and toss the pan in the oven for one baking. 30-35 minutes and they’re done!

Instructions for Making This Recipe

Preheat oven to 350°F. Gather your ingredients so that you have everything close at hand.

Prepare the Ingredients

Using a nut chopper, chop the pecans. Set aside until ready to use. Place butter in a glass measuring cup and melt in microwave.

Make the Cookie Dough

In a small bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and brown sugar. Stir in the large eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until all ingredients are incorporated.

Gradually stir in the flour mixture, just until combined. The batter will be thick.

Spread batter into an oblong cake pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Sprinkle batter with the chocolate chips and chopped pecans.

Sometimes I use milk chocolate chips, but I prefer bittersweet or semi-sweet. Pecans are perfect, but you may also use English Walnuts. They just aren’t as flavorful.

Bake for 30-35 minutes in preheated oven until cookies are set in the center. Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing.

Halve the Recipe for 9 Servings

This recipe will make 20 bars. Or halve the recipe for a simple 9 bars.

One word of warning. Milk. You must have plenty of milk in the refrigerator when you make these. Because you will want to serve them with a tall glass of ice cold milk! Trust me. You’re going to love this recipe for Blonde Brownies. Make some for you and your family today!
