Prepare the Ranch Dressing Mix

Combine the 12 dressing ingredients in a food processor bucket. Whirl together until crumbs are very small. Store this in an airtight container. This will make a little over 3 cups and will keep for up to a year in a cool, dry place.
Make Homemade Ranch Dressing

Measure the ingredients for the Homemade Ranch Dressing. Place mayonnaise in a medium mixing bowl and add to that the sour cream and Ranch Dressing Mix. Stir together until combined.
Gradually add in the buttermilk, mixing together with a whisk until completely blended. Season with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper. Taste and add more seasonings, if desired.

This is a great recipe to do with your kids or grandchildren, to help them learn measuring and mixing techniques.

Pour dressing into a pint jar or serving vessel. Cover and allow to chill for at least 4 hours in the refrigerator before serving.
