Instructions For Making Ranch Dressing Mix

Gather the ingredients so you have everything close at hand on the counter or table.

Prepare the Ranch Dressing Mix

Combine the 12 dressing ingredients in a food processor bucket. Whirl together until crumbs are very small. Store this in an airtight container. This will make a little over 3 cups and will keep for up to a year in a cool, dry place.

Suggestions For Using Ranch Dressing Mix

Use Ranch Dressing Mix to make Homemade Ranch Dressing, to make Ranch Dip, or in other recipes, such as Ranch Loaves, Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad, Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza, or Cheesy Ranch Snack Mix.

Make Homemade Ranch Dressing

Measure the ingredients for the Homemade Ranch Dressing. Place mayonnaise in a medium mixing bowl and add to that the sour cream and Ranch Dressing Mix. Stir together until combined.

Gradually add in the buttermilk, mixing together with a whisk until completely blended. Season with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper. Taste and add more seasonings, if desired.

This is a great recipe to do with your kids or grandchildren, to help them learn measuring and mixing techniques.

Pour dressing into a pint jar or serving vessel. Cover and allow to chill for at least 4 hours in the refrigerator before serving.

To use, pour over your favorite lettuce salad. This recipe will make a little less than 2 cups.

Seasoning Mix

  • 12 individual saltine crackers
  • 1 cup parsley
  • 1/2 cup dried minced onion
  • 1/2 cup chives
  • 1/3 cup dry milk powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme leaves
  • 1 tablespoon dill weed
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground paprika

  1. I was confused seeing crackers was an ingredient for the dressing mix but I am going to try it. I am assuming this is to make it thicker?
