Serve Seafood Seasoning Mix with your next Shrimp Boil, or over any seafood.
In my years of baking and cooking, I have made many DIY seasonings and mixes. You can usually count on two things when you make your own: it will be less expensive and more tasty.
Spices Needed to Make Seafood Seasoning Mix
Celery Seed, Sea Salt, Freshly Ground Peppercorn Melange (a blend of black, white, green and pink peppercorns), paprika, lemon pepper, allspice, crushed red pepper flakes, and oregano.
Instructions for Making this Recipe
Making this seasoning mix is quite easy. In a small bowl, combine the celery seed, sea salt, peppercorn melange, paprika, lemon pepper, allspice, crushed red pepper flakes, and oregano. Mix well. Using a funnel, transfer the mix to an airtight jar. Shake to mix thoroughly. Place lid on the jar to seal and store until until ready to use. You may store this seasoning mix for up to six months.
Making your own spices or seasoning blends requires that you have a well-stocked pantry. Below I’ve listed my top spices and herbs that I like to keep in my cabinet. Of course, you might want more or less, depending on how much you cook and your preferences. But this is a nice start for the recipes you’ll find on this site, including Seafood Seasoning Mix.
