I like serving these pancakes with Maple syrup, bacon, and eggs. They are always a hit in our house.

fall apples

Every year my dad makes his own apple cider by squeezing the juice from fresh fall apples with his cider press. I’m always on the lookout for ways to use the cider he gives us, and this recipe is a perfect fit.

Our Grandson Helping Make Pancakes

Forming a well in the center of the flour mixture, pour in cider, applesauce, whole milk, large eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir together and mix into the flour ingredients until combined.

This is a great recipe to have your children (or grandchildren) help with. Teach them how to measure, dump, and stir. Great teaching moments!

Heat Griddle until it Sizzles - Cook Pancakes in Melted Butter

Heat a large griddle over medium heat and spread melted butter over it. Using about 1/3 cup per pancake, cook 2-3 pancakes at a time. Turn over when bubbles appear in the center and cook until golden on the other side. Repeat with remaining batter.
